Self-aligning Bearings

Self-aligning or spherical bearings are the most common type of bearing.
They are primarily used by the electrical motor industry.  The general
design can be seen in Figure 1.  However, the lengths can be adjusted
to provide a OD band around the part.  This type of bearing is not
press fitted, but restrained by a retainer clip and an end shield.
Typical tolerances on the bore are 0.0003".

Sleeve Bearings

Sleeve bearings or pipe bearings are most commonly used in the
appliance industry.  They are press fit into a housing. Typical tolerances
 for the OD are 0.001" and 0.001" for the bore. The lengths can be
adjusted to give a wide range of sizes.

Flange Bearings

Flange bearings are very similar to the sleeve bearings with the addition
of a flange. Like the sleeve bearing they are used primarily in the appliance
 industry and are press fit into a housing. The tolerances are similar to the
sleeve bearing. The lengths can be adjusted to give a wide range of sizes.
